Rental Rates and Conditions

Rental Rates

Facility rental rates are available upon request. All rental rates refer to the building rental and do not reflect the costs of labor, equipment, or other costs related to the special event.

Booking Procedures

Tenants interested in booking the facility must contact the Event Manager to determine available dates. A date is not considered final until a signed contract and required deposit are returned to the facility. The Event Manager may deny use of the facility to any individual, group, or organization that is not in the best interest of the University of New Mexico or The Pit.

Deposit Requirements and Procedures

A deposit of 50% of the base rental rate is required in order to secure a date at The Pit. If less than thirty days prior to the event, an initial deposit of 100% of the rental rate and the estimated event expenses is required upon signing the contract. The Pit administration reserves the right to require an additional sum in advance to cover estimated event expenses and/or a damage deposit, which will be refundable after the event is settled and when a check of the facility has commenced.

Event Requirement and Staffing

The Pit will provided and the tenant/lessee will be charged for all event-related staffing. This includes box offices services, ticket-takers, ushers, security, police and fire, medical, lighting and audio/visual personnel and custodians. Tenants are instructed not to make any other staffing arrangements. The Pit requires general event staff, security, and parking personnel for the facility itself and the areas surrounding.

Food and Beverage

Sodexo Sports and Leisure has exclusive rights to all food and beverages sold and distributed inside The Pit. Tenants may not sell food and beverage at any time. Outside food and beverage may not be brought into the facility with the intention of distribution to patrons.

Catering

Sodexo Sports and Leisure has exclusivity over all catering services offered on the premises of The Pit. Arrangements for a catered event may be made through Sodexo Sports and Leisure.

Marketing / Advertising / Public Relations

Event Management will assist with creating a successful marketing campaign for the event. This includes, radio ads, newspaper ads, coordinating event media, press releases, creating promotions, or hosting pre-event parties. Event management is capable of meeting every advertising, publicity, and promotional need. Proposals for advertising and promotional campaigns are developed upon request.

Type of stage: Wenger Show Master Size: Main stage is 54'8" between trusses and 38'1" deep, plus two wings at 18' x 17'4" inside trusses. Size is required for use with Grid.

Mixed Board Location: Located house right behind right section of floor seating (North end of building, appx. 60' from stage). Space for mix is appx. 26' x 20'. No obstructions. Maximum riser height is 1' other heights must be cleared through management due to loss of available seating.

Rigging Information:
Building roof has no steel to hang from. Rigging is by portable grid support only. Main rectangular grid (57' x 48') consists of six towers, two side towers, three main trusses and seven triangle trusses. Wings consist of four towers, two of which are shared with the main grid, three main trusses and two triangle trusses.
Height: Main grid is 46'0" at the sides and 48'6" at the center. Wings are at 46'.

Weight Limits: Maximum capacity of the roof grid is approximately 85,000 pounds. All rigging plots must be approved at least 30 days before event through UNM Public Events Technical Director Billy Tubb. (505) 277-9413

Concession Stands

Concession stands are operated by Sodexo Sports and Leisure. There are 10 permanent stands as well as 2 portable stands with 42 points of sale located on the concourse level. There are 4 stands located on the suite/club level. These stands include multiple styles of food to adhere to any type of craving.

Mexican: quesadilla, ultimate nachos, and enchiladas
Deli: homemade deli sandwiches and green chili stew
Pizza: high quality pizzas including four custom pies
Grill: Angus burger, bratwurst, chicken fingers, French fries
Sweets: frozen drinks, homemade pastries, and an assortment of desserts
Carving Station: a rotation of meats including turkey, prime rib, New York flank and pulled pork sandwiches
